I hope this time of the day finds you well and relaxed. Today I really wanted to talk to you about my experience as a guest at the London Fashion Week Festival . Wanted to note here that I’ve been in several designer’s fashion festivals and exhibitions but first time in London Fashion Week Festival! I’d heard a million opinions and talks about this controversial fashion event and it’s organizers and now I’m getting to understand why!
It was the 23rd of February when I decided to visit this huge Fashion Event. Was really excited by the vibe that you instantly got by the time you stepped in. The first impression that I got when I walked in the Fashion Room, where many designers were showcasing their designs, is that I really were in the heart of Fashion! There was a huge area in which you could find Shoe Designers, Clothes Designers, Jewelry and Accessories. From really prestigious and well known, big brands to smaller, yet super talented entrepreneurs.
London Fashion Week has long been considered as one of the pioneering and defining events in the world of fashion. In my opinion it really is! Not only from the side of the shoe designer, but also as a guest, the feeling I got, was that imagination and personal ideas and preferences are the main keys to success. What made me happy this year, is that I really met new Designers who differentiated and showed themselves off, with a completely other style! Their own style! You could easily tell that this year, unlike the past years, new artists, proposed unaccustomed style trends without copying the big , high end brands. Following the latest trends will always be “the thing”, creating trends will always be fashion and you could distinguish the difference from the very first minute you entered. Being able to express yourself through your designs is a real blessing and these daredevils called designers, surprised me in a very positive manner!
Hands down my friends for the fabulous catwalk show of the gorgeous Zandra Rhodes Collection, which surprised us for another time. What makes me love her, (besides her bespoke designs) is that she always finds a unique way throughout all these years , to create real statement clothes. Edgy for most of us have to admit! For sure you can’t call her clothes affordable, but there’s always space for admiring and why not, taking great ideas from our high end designers! Here are my two favorite pieces of her new collection SS18.
The 1967 Lipstick gown in black silk chiffon , is the reintroduction to this years collection and a clear throwback to the designer’s iconic past.
Another black silk chiffon jumpsuit , from her Lipstick collection as well, revives the vibe of a past, playful era. Loving the patterns and materials she uses, she will always be one of my great inspirations.
Talking about great impression. Here comes Marina London. The designs literally stole my heart and caught my eyes. The super talented designer ,Marina Guergova, whose clothes are all based in silk, is an extremely loud example of creativity and differentiation. Clothes the everyday woman can wear and depending how you style them, you can reach your wanted result. I would describe her creations as classy, chic and casual. Absolutely adore the lining of her clothes and the way they adjust to the body. They are really close to my style choices. Take a look of the pieces that in my opinion stand out! You can visit her official site as well. It’s totally recommended.
Cannot forget the fashion talks at the luxe lounge, this fashion event was a real bombshell! So, If you are interested in fashion or just want to keep updated in any manners and ways, I would definitely recommend LFWF. Eye-opener for real! As a little closing notion, don’t follow the norms; excel! Fashion is all about imagination after all! Hope you all enjoyed my experience and views. Waiting for your comments and thoughts! Till next time, take care and
