Intended to talk about this topic on How can someone be exposed to the Shoe Fashion Industry , on a later post, but since your questions are being a lot more day by day, thought to start narrating my experience, thoughts, concerns and “how to” tips starting by now.
A lot of people have reached me, all asking the same questions; “ How did you decided to move in the opening of an actual shoe company?” “What do I need to do?” “Is it difficult? Time consuming?” “how can I launch my shoes in the market? “And a lot more..

First things first! Before starting, let’s ask ourselves a question: What is my passion? We have to be absolutely sure about what our passion is and how dedicated we could stay at it! Our passion is not just something we simply like.. It’s something that should keep us awake all night and still won’t complain about it! Remembering myself through the past years to find lively interest within a shoe factory, watching all the production process and meeting all those shoe designers talking so passionately about every detail. Having in my personal collection hundreds of designs that I used to make , either at the breaks during Uni years, or at the end of my everyday job later, I knew that this was “my thing.” Then somewhere here another question comes..” what will my actions be in order to develop my knowledge-skills?” Nothing comes easily and without effort.
Determined to dedicate myself into this new attempt, moved in London and started working in the marketing sector, in order to make a living and afford my classes later on, in the University of the Arts London. That was the key starting point at that time. The classes made me feel even more into this whole new world of Footwear Design. It made me dig my heels in and start chasing the N&K London Shoes dream which was no other than creating it. I learned many exciting things, new techniques and of course met many recognized people in the Footwear Fashion Industry. To conclude (cause I can write for hours!) the initial step to start this exciting journey which is called “how to expose my passion to the market” is to make sure that you are fully dedicated to it and you will do whatever it takes in order to succeed. By saying “whatever it takes” I mean working overtime and sometimes maybe working in another job simultaneously! At least for a start! Then of course things become more demanding! Finding the right colleagues is a real pain! (Accountant, web designer, photographer and many more which are going to be discussed later) . So all you need to do is completely focus on your project. The same time you start focusing on your project, it’s then when the dilemmas start to pop up! Personally didn’t find it really hard to decide between an Online and an actual store! After an excessive market research, I finally went for the eshop for two main reasons. Firstly I wanted to be introduced to the people and the market by showing my designs off and as I grow through this, an actual store would follow as a physical sequence. Secondly, my first and big investment went to the trims and materials used for each shoe, which in were specially selected in order to get the high quality that I wanted from the very beginning. So think wisely before making a choice!
